Program Description
In this workshop, Dr. LaBier will describe the emotional attitudes, mental perspectives, and actions that underlie a new form of resilience needed for psychological health today, based on both current research and clinical observations.
Participants will learn:
• the traditional mental health view of resiliency and why it's not as effective in today's world
• why the coping strategies of traditional resilience can diminish your effectiveness and well-being when dealing with today's stresses and conflict
• the paradox of "forgetting yourself" and why it is the foundation for building effective resiliency and overall psychological health
• the key emotional strengths, mindset and actions that build long-term resiliency
• steps for building resiliency in your relationships, in your work, and as a citizen of an interconnected world
