Increasingly, social networking sites such as LinkedIn.com and Facebook are playing a critical role in the recruiting and job search process. These tools present amazing potential for the job seekers of all ages, as well as for recruiters. This "how-to" workshop will explore how job-seekers and can leverage the power of online social networking, and how employers are increasingly turning to sites such LinkedIn.com to identify and screen potential candidates. This interactive workshop will include demonstrations to help you understand the power of these tools for you and your clients.

Sue Gordon has been a career counselor for 15 years. Currently, she is the Director of Career Development at American University. Prior to her arrival at AU, Sue worked as a career counselor in community and federal agencies, including NIH, NASA, and the IRS. Her previous professional background includes nearly 10 years at IBM in programming and technical marketing.
